Craig was born in Vancouver and has lived and worked his entire adult life on the British Columbia coast. His formal education includes environmental studies, wildlife management, and habitat protection.
A self-taught master carver of stone and wood, Craig began sculpting full time in 1990 and also creates original bronzes. His works are always carved from a single piece of material and almost exclusively represent local marine species in fine, realistic detail. Collectors both corporate and private throughout the world exclaim: “I feel so connected to the spirit of this creature.” For some it is their first exquisite, up-close experience of a species they’ve either never seen before or, in some cases, were indifferent to.
Craig is unable to express the pain he feels at the thought of these creatures being annihilated and is committed to stopping the passage of oil tankers on our coast.
