Guy Belair, contributors

Guy Belair started creating his Wooden Salmon carvings in 2013 for the Canada’s Handyman Challenge. The idea struck while driving along the Sunshine Coast in BC.

Guy grew up in Quebec, but moved to Vancouver in 1986 after falling in love with the natural beauty of the west coast. Since moving to Vancouver, he has worked with wood, expressing his creativity through projects for his community and family.

As an expression of his interest in BC’s wild salmon, Guy graciously donates part of the proceeds from the sale of each Wooden Salmon carving to conserving wild salmon.
