Raincoast reaches Kitlope fundraising goal

Congratulations! Today we reached our fundraising goal to buy the commercial hunting rights in the entire Huchduwaachsdu Nuyem Jees Kitlope Heritage Conservancy and surrounding area in BC’s Great Bear Rainforest.

This is our fifth commercial hunting tenure acquisition. We are currently protecting a combined area larger than Vancouver Island or the country of Belgium.

Over the weekend we received a huge boost when Paul Nicklen, Christina Mittermeier and Sea Legacy shared posts about the Kitlope stepping us over our fundraising line.

This means that every bear, wolf, cougar and wolverine in the Kitlope will be protected from commercial trophy hunting. Thank you. We did this together.
