The bogs behind the Raincoast research station in Bella Bella are currently bursting with the colourful blooms of bog-laurel. Bog-laurel (Kalmia polifolia) is an evergreen shrub native to the coast’s acidic bogs. They are NOT edible, in fact they are toxic! They are beautiful, though.
