Take action to protect Fraser river estuary

British Columbia’s Fraser Estuary is currently at risk from industrialization.

The proposed Terminal 2 expansion will further destroy and degrade wildlife habitat in the Fraser River Estuary, an area that is home to more than 100 species of wildlife at-risk of extinction.

The Canadian Impact Assessment Agency has concluded that the Terminal 2 expansion project will have significant adverse and cumulative effects on threatened Chinook salmon populations and the endangered Southern Resident killer whales through the destruction of legally protected critical habitat, reduced prey availability and an increase in underwater noise.

Tell Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Jonathan Wilkinson, to say no to the Terminal 2 expansion and commit to protect and restore salmon and killer whales.
